SenSafe® Iron (Fe+2) (NCW-480125)

Our patented aperture strips are unique in the way the water flows through them and detects the iron more accurately and as low as 0.02 to 5 ppm. This test can be used to detect Iron in water from various environments including tap and well water.

The precise colour chart is found on the back of the bottle and no other reagents or accessories are needed for this simple test. We use trace amounts of chemicals on our strips which makes them extremely safe and non-hazardous. They are considered as Articles under OSHA and do not require SDS sheets. This packaging is recyclable.

Notes: This test detects dissolved Iron (Fe+2). For best results, run test immediately after collecting a fresh water sample because Iron rapidly converts to Fe+3 in the presence of oxygen in the air. Iron is naturally occurring from rocks but can also arise from corrosion of plumbing materials. Iron in water above 0.3ppm can have an unpleasant taste, be coloured, and can cause staining of laundry, sinks, and fixtures. If rust coloured stains are seen in toilet tanks or sinks then iron might be present in the water.
